Edward HALL, son of William HALL (c. 1857-c. 1940) and Emma CORBLE (c. 1859-c. 1944), was born on 6th August 1888. On 7th October 1914 Edward joined the Norfolk Territorials, and was discharged April 1916. He joined up again and in February 1917 he arrived at Boulogne on 5th March, and joined the British Expeditionary Force with the West Sussex Regiment. At some point he transferred to the West Yorkshire Regiment. On 7th March 1918 he. was wounded and treated in hospital but soon returned to hid Regiment. He died on 19 September 1918 - killed in action. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission grave registration entry for Edward was “HALL, Pte. Edward, 52509. 1st Bn. West Yorkshire Regt. 19th Sept. 1918.” Edward is commemorated at Vis-En-Artois Memorial - Panel 4.

Edward's brother Albert George also died in The Great War.
