| Military: | On 7 October 1914 Edward joined Norfolk Territorials, and was discharged April 1916. In February 1917 he enlisted and he arrived at Boulogne on 5th March, and joined the British Expeditionary Force with the West Sussex Regiment. At some point he transferred to the West Yorkshire Regiment. On 7 March 1918 he. was wounded and treated in hospital but soon returned to his Regiment. Edward was on the 1918 Absent Voters List at Rectory Road, South Lopham - ser. no. 52509, West. Yorkshire Regiment. He died on 19 September 1918 - killed in action.The Commonwealth War Graves Commission grave registration entry for Edward was “HALL, Pte. Edward, 52509. 1st Bn. West Yorkshire Regt. 19th Sept. 1918.” Edward is commemorated at Vis-En-Artois Memorial - Panel 4. |
